This curricular, auditioned ensemble is open to students grades 9-12 at West Morris Central. Auditions are held in the early Spring. Admission into the Wind Ensemble is selective, and based on students' individual musicianship, skill, and attitude. We continue the tradition established by Frederick Fennell, famed band conductor, founder of the Eastman Wind Ensemble at the Eastman School of Music (1952), and forefather of the school band. The Wind Ensemble often has extra performing opportunities outside of the regularly-scheduled concerts, and performs upper level music. This ensemble effectively prepares students to perform in college, university, or other post-secondary music ensembles.Â
